Our room was great, I loved the furnishings and everything. I understand these rooms are not spacious enough if you're american (as american hotel rooms are usually bigger), but it's not usual for european hotels to have more spacious rooms. The bathroom was spacious, there was a lot of room to place stuff and had everything you could ask for like sewing kits, little combs and stuff like that(which are not to be found in all 5 star european hotels). The staff were incredibly polite and helpfull, ready to meet our every need. While we were checking out my mother asked the reception stuff where she could purchase one of the books in our room and they immediately sent someone to get it from our room and just gave it to her.. I stayed with my wife at King George II and i was absolutely impressed by the quality of the service and the elegance of the decor. We had been at no charge upgraded to a junior suite in the front with smashing views to the Acropolis (what a miraculous site! The concierge gave us some very usefull tips about sight seeing and shopping (i really liked the Kolonaki area with expencive boutiques and elegant cafes). My wife used the Spa (i m not a spa person) and she was thrilled.. Read review

Everything exceeded expectations, beginning with a free upgrade to a suite on the fifth floor on arrival. The suite was tastefully decorated, simple yet luxurious. The concierge was particularly pleasant and serviceable.. Read review

We requested for a room with Acropolis view. The room, though small, is outfitted luxuriously. The bed we had, (we were informed it would be 2 twins before confirming the reservation, which was fine since we were checking out by midnight. A flat-screen television sits on the desk as well. Marbled bathroom (no shower) had all the necessary amenities, including bath robes and slippers. The lighting in the room was not as easy to figure out in the beginning. In the basement, there is an indoor "L" shape pool, and a square jacuzzi. The pool was warm and the jacuzzi was quite powerful. There is also a steam room and 3 shower rooms, as well as a well-equipped exercise room.. Read review

I didn't even know that one can find in Athens such a high standarded hotel, everything was impeccable, the service, the room, the view to the Acropolis (unbelievable! Off course it's not a cheap hotel but sometimes you can find offers and definately you don't feel like somebody is stealing your money (which i have felt in many hotels).. Read review

I feel that they knew what that means, as we all enjoyed the best hospitality, facilities, and service that the Hotel management and people are offering to all their customers.
The rooms were absoluely gorgeous, especially if you manage to get one with a sitting area. The rooftop restaurant has a beautiful view of the Acropolis (despite the construction/restoration work that still might be going on around it) and the food/service was excellent -- it was the perfect way to cap off our stay there. You can't beat the location -- it's in the middle of everything (the designer shopping area is around the corner from the Grand Bretagne next door, the Acropolis was about 10-15 minute walk) and it's situated right in front of the train station for those who decide to take the train (btw, I found the train to/from the airport to the hotel was extremely easy, cheap, fast and was a much better experience than taking a taxi). Both, however, seem to have quite a number of business travellers, which in light of the cost/type of hotel, is not really surprising.
Although it's small, I loved the intimacy and decor of the L-shaped pool and hot tub in the spa.
We had a deluxe room with sitting area overlooking Syntagma Square and the Acropolis, and since the night we stayed happened to be the night of the Greek elections we were in prime position to see all the celebrations meaning there was a wonderful atmosphere. Despite all the excitement outside the staff were a delight and were extremely helpful when I had to report a lost item to the local police. Our room was gorgeous - completely different to most of the places we stayed in on our honeymoon which were designer-trendy, this one had the mod cons yet was very elegant and regal. The bathroom was all marble and very big. Try to book a package including the breakfast champagne buffet as it's lovely having breakfast up on the roof terrace and the swimming pool area in the basement is also definitely worth a look.
