TripTake Traveler Reviews
In general, the rooms in the hotel are nice enough and clean. They are not, however, at a normal four-star standard. There was soap in the rooms, but no shampoo. The television got only two or three stations - depending on the reception at any given time. These were in Greek or in Dutch.
The first night we stayed, some of us had reserved an apartment, but we received a telephone call that this was not available. Once we arrived, it turned out that the apartment was available, but only for one night. The hotel offered two rooms the second night for the same price as the apartment. This turned out to be a good thing because the apartment was terrible - definitely to be avoided. It seems that the apartments were set up to house Italian backpackers. They had handwritten notices in Italian all over them. The furnishings were very sparse. The kitchens had no electricity - at least until we found the fuse box. The same was true of the water heater in the bathroom. Unlike the hotel rooms, there was not even soap in these apartments. At least the sheets were clean.
The main hotel, rather far from the apartments, had a nice swimming pool. When we checked in, some of our passports were taken, apparently as collateral. When we wanted to get them back, because we noticed that nobody was ever at reception, we were asked to make an appointment to check out and get our passports back! We refused, so later in the evening (a bit too late - after 11 p.m.) an elderly man appeared at one door with the passports, but also demaning immediate payment of the full charge of the hotel.
Breakfast was not included in the price. It was rather inexpensive, but still not worth eating. It was neither good nor fresh. Go elsewhere!
Despite shortcomings, however, the place was very inexpensive. Four people paid a total of EUR 300 for two nights. Without a discount, however, this place would not be a good deal, so look out for discounted prices.
