Hotel Stella Alpina Edelweiss - Venice, Italy     

This hotel was by far the worst I have ever stayed in. Its location was really the only good thing I have to say about it. Luckily we were only here for one night. I would have described the place as more of a hostel - it really shouldn't be classed as a hotel. Our friends who had booked the hotel stayed in another room on the 3rd floor and this was a much better room than ours as this room had a private bathroom and didn't appear so old and dated and basic as ours did, though there are no lifts to the third floor just stairs. We had the misfortune of having a room on the ground floor with a shared bathroom and toilet with the rest of the floor. One of the bathrooms had flooded and the facilities were very basic. When we walked in the room I can honestly say it was the worst I have been in. Our room was awful it was very basic with just a bed, sink, and a tv that didn't work It was also old (in desperate need of rennovation) smelly and unclean. The walls were thin so you get no sleep as you can hear everything going on above and next to you. I complained to the lady on reception about our room and asked if we could be moved and was told by her she couldn't move us and there was nothing she could do, she didn't even apologise. The breakfast was awful as nothing seemed fresh. This hotel is definately best avoided I would never come back here even if they paid me.

Hotel was quite near the Venezia SL train station. We got a clean and bedbug-free room at the back, room 76. Buffet breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will recommend to friends.
