Dining

Aspects is a Pizzeria and Grill Restaurant, serving international cuisine.

Aspects was born out of the two rosette Churchills restaurant and the Pizzeria of the Year Winstons. This new restaurant merged the best of both and then with a continental twist we put in an early evening fixed price menu and a fixed price a la carte style menu with speciality dishes.

We pride ourselves on using local fresh and seasonal food, with our beef coming from the butchers own herd, and hung for at least 28 days, much longer than Jamie Oliver's Finest Range, giving a lovely chocolate marbling colour which grills to perfection.

Breakfast is available from 7am to 9am Monday to Friday and 8am - 10am Saturday and Sundays.

I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions when I come home from where I live in Asia, where I travel a lot and stay in hundreds of hotels a year. The reviews saying that it was the worst hotel they have ever stayed in etc, are misleading to say the least, and have compelled me to write this review. Agreed it doesnt look like an old country mansion outside anymore due to the extensions - but when you get inside it is very authentic and very comfortable. i have only had good experiences with the excelent staff, who are always willing to help, and always have a smile - which makes a big difference for me. The rooms have recently been renovated and are lovely and very tastefully done - they are not identikit travel lodge no identity style rooms and if you want that then dont stay here. Each room is different and I suggest that if they have them available you ask to see the rooms and choose which one you like best. The setting is lovely and it seems very popular for weddings, so for me it is a great place to stay that has good character at a price would normally get you a soulless travel lodge style monstrosity. I would recommend this hotel so I wouldnt get put off by the bad ones - give it a balanced view - everyone has an opinion and we dont all agree

This was truly the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel in Britain. From the booking process to checking out I have never experienced such problems. We booked this hotel to attend a wedding so didn't really have much choice about where we stayed. On reflection we would have been better walking the 200 miles home. We booked our room well in advance then two months later were contacted by staff to say we now had to pay a deposit or the room would be cancelled. I wish it had been. The room was shabby and terrible value at £90. It was also £7.50 extra for a cooked breakfast. Reception staff were rude when we tried to order a taxi for an elderly relative during the evening, telling us we should have done it in advance. Then at 1am when the bar closed after the wedding we were informed there was no residents' bar. When we questioned this - and we were not alone as many guests did - the same member of staff who was difficult about ordering a taxi handed out a sheet with the hotel's terms and conditions on it. She was rude and not at all understanding. We were then told we couldn't finish the drinks we had already bought in any public area and had to take them to bed. Hardly appropriate in a social situation. Just when we thought things couldn't get any worse when we checked out the following morning another very rude member of staff tried to charge us for another room they said we had booked, despite the fact that three days earlier we had called the hotel to confirm all the bookings and they had informed us we only had one room booked and as they were fully booked we couldn't get the extra room. When we told the member of staff this she then started questioning us on exactly what time the call had been made. It was appaling. Eventually she backed down after my partner scrolled through his moblie phone to prove the call had been made. Despite all the problems the wedding was wonderful I just feel terribly sorry for the bride's family who booked it, I hope they were treated with more respect. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
