I stayed in a family room for almost 3 weeks, prior to an overseas move, the reservation was easily made, but had so many rate changes on several nights it was hard to keep up with. Upon arrival and during my stay, staff at reception with the exception of one, seemed miserable and never greeted you, but would look up after being stood at the desk for a few minutes. The newly refurbished rooms are lovely, wifi was very quick and easy to access and at no charge, my room had Ipod speakers which were very useful and the bathroom was well set out with a great shower, although took a few mins to work out how to use it!
The breakfast buffet was good but not consistent, some days there would be muffins and pastries other days nothing, and a smaller range of fruit. The room service was good, and rather fresh, not some of the brakes brothers frozen meals you get elsewhere, the food in the restaurant was very good quality.
The parking although looks in plentiful supply was often full to bursting, the hotel is very dark from the new decor but was comfortable, clean and in good order. I think the lack of personality of the hotel and its staff let it down, some of the new verve logos are a bit cheesy too.
I am not sure I would stay here again.

Stayed for 3 nights whilst working in Warrington, it was my second stay here and one immediate change i noticed since my last visit in April is that the bed bases have been changed, i can only imagine this is due to the numerous complaints from guests banging their shins and toes on the old beds.
Echoing other reviews the rooms are modern if a little small, the wall mounted TV's may look good but they are so noisey, i was able to turn the sound down on mine and listen to the TV next door, the noise from other guests has been a problem both times i have stayed here, and colleagues who have stayed here have had the same problems.
Free wifi in the rooms is a bonus and the connection is fast and reliable.
Breakfasts are self service buffet, even down to the coffee and tea, but the food was ok.
Food in the bar is similar to any other Village hotel, fair but vastly overpriced, you are a short walk away from Warrington so there are alternative places to eat.
Its a good hotel with good facilities, but the noise due to the wall mounted TV's and thin walls can ruin your stay, my advice...take earplugs.
