We stayed at The Whipper-Inn for 2 nights, the building has got lots of character and as you get in the building you can feel its cozyness.
Our room was on the ground floor and opposite the courtyard. The room was a bit cold as the central heating system was off, there was a heater in the wardrobe, one of its legs was broken but it worked properly.
The room deco was simple and traditional but the furniture looked tired a worn. The fan in the bathroom was extremely noisy.
We experienced very noisy floorboards from room upstairs and both nights we were woken up in the night and early mornings, we commented this to the receptionist as we checked out, the answer was "that it was a listed building and was to be expected"
Overall courteous staff and excellent breakfast.
We totally recommend booking high floors.
