This " Plantation-style " house was built over a century ago on part of the Cary Estate in the leafy Warberries,a quiet conservation area off the Babbacombe Road.
Cary Court is a few minutes' walk from the harbour,theatre and shopping areas.A wide choice of pubs,clubs,restaurants and bars are close by .There is a heated outdoor swimming pool ( seasonal ) surrounded by south-facing sub-tropical gardens and sun decks.

In the lounge there are large ceiling fans to cool you in summer and cosy log fires to warm you in winter. What a fabulous short break - didn't want to come home! As soon as we walked through the door we were welcomed like long lost friends.
A very pretty hotel, in old Colonial Style, the bedrooms and all the common areas are clean, well furnished, comfortable and welcoming. The gardens are particularly lovely, with many levels of decking with a lush tropical feel. Fantastic to sit and have a glass of wine or two. The hotel does not have a paying bar, but you are encouraged to bring your own and use the chiller in the conservatory (labels for marking your poison provided!)
Having stayed in many (alleged) 4* hotels in and around Torquay, and always disappointed with the bland, corporate style and lack of personal attention, the Cary Court,and its owners, Paul and Linda, are a refreshing and delightful change to the norm. I would recommend anyone going to Torquay to try this one out.. Thanks, guys, for a wonderful weekend. We will be back.

Have just come back from the Cary Court and wasn't expecting too much...but was bowled over not just by the Hotel but also the warm reception given by the owners - Linda & Paul. Breakfast was a good 10/10. Would I go back to Torquay - YES. would I stay at the Cary court - YES !
