The location of the Ravenswood Hotel is superb, being adjacent to Torquay Museum and on the Agatha Christie Mile. Also within a 400 metre radius are over 30 pubs, cafes and restaurants, so you will be spoilt for choice when selecting something to eat. Torquay's blue flag award beaches are but a short walk away, and for the energetic, the south west coast path is a great place to walk and take in the scenery.

We have revently stayed 4 nights at The Ravenswood. It is in a very central location and offers parking facilities. Restaurants and bars are only a few mins walk away and so is the harbour. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. We had a front facing double room, overlooking Torwood Gardens. The room was clean and comfortable, in fact the bed was comfier than ours at home. The bathroom was clean though ready for up-dating. There was always hot water and you can have your towels changed daily if you so wish. The breakfast is lovely and served in a front facing modern dining room. 1st course is a buffet containing cereals, fresh fruit ,juices and toast, followed by a well cooked non-greasy tasty full english. There are other choices for anyone seeking something lighter. Nice coffee served in cafeterries. The owner recommended some good places to take evening meal. We had a fab indian meal ,the place is just a few hundred yards down the road on the same side as the hotel. Wetherspoons on the harbour served excellent meals at very reasonable prices. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for basic, clean and comfortable accomodation at very reasonable rates.

We booked this hotel after reading the good reviews it received, but were a little concerned that all of them dated from 2007, and the bad one it got was from April 2008. However, we have just returned from a three-day stay at the Ravenswood hotel and throughly enjoyed our visit there. The owner Simon was extremely friendly and helpful, giving us tips on how to get around the area, places to visit and things to do. We booked a double room, and though it was not the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in, it was perfectly adequate, clean and in good order. The hotel was very convenient, located just off the marina, and there were plenty of good restaurants and bars within walking distance. It is definitely a hotel we would stay at the next time we are in Torquay.
