Monaco Hotel - Saint Helier Jersey, United Kingdom 

We booked this hotel through Jersey.com The hotel owners have been very clever with their photos showing only the refurbished parts of the hotel. We were first allocated room 28. The fixtures and fittings were old fashioned and very tired, The floor sloped down and groaned and creaked with every footstep but not as much as the bed which left me feeling like I had been kicked all over. The smell of dust was thick and as the hotel is on a busy junction sleeping with the windows open was not possible. The bathroom was terrible, the mould on the shower cubicle had been there for as long as the outdated decor and you almost could shower and use the loo at the same time it was so small. After two sleepless nights we asked to be moved. Room 4 was everything we could hope for. Clean, Modern and comfortable. That was until the guests upstairs came back. The floorboards above creaked, as did their bed. We could hear them speaking and using the bathroom but eventually the settled down. time for sleep we thought but how wrong could we be. Somewhere around us someone was sleeping really well, their snores were vibrating through our room. After three nights with no sleep I was reduced to sobbing into my breakfast so again we asked to be moved. Room 24 was again old fashioned and tired. The paint was peeling from the ceiling and mould grew free range in the bathroom. This was the last straw and we packed our cases and checked out.
