I have stayed here twice in the last two years. It really has charm to it. The rooms are very large and most have great sea views. We didnt experience noise and we all got a good nights sleep - It may be luck of the draw though !!
The only down side to our stay was the over priced food that was below standard in the restaurant. If you like grit in your spinach you will love it. Sevice is ok but not great in the restaurant. Breakfast was fine.
I may well stay here again in the future but I will definatly eat out.
If you are after a beach front hotel that has an old english charm to it - try it out. I just hope you dont book at the same time as a function of some sort.

My partner and I stayed 2 nights at this delighful hotel. We had never stayed at this hotel before and we had booked the first night through a promotion(i.e Nectar points). As we couldn't use my Nectar points for a second night, I directly contacted the hotel who very kindly gave us the second night at the promotional rate.
First impressions from the outside gave the feeling of old fashioned grandeur, it was directly opposite the pier so it was in a lovely location. The interior of the hotel was a bit on the old fashioned side but we were very surprised when we got to our room as it was lovely , light, spacious and furnished to a modern standard. The bathroom was very light and long. Although the grouting could have done with a bit of bleaching. Nevetheless, it was extremely acceptable and it was nice having natural light instead of bathrooms with no natural light. The breakfast was nice and the waiting staff were attentive. We ran out of some tea and coffee supplies and the reception staff kindly stocked us up with as many of the supplies required. On reading some of the material in the bedroom, I gather the hotel (part of the BEST WESTERN HOTEL chain) are gradually refurbishing the hotel so I should imagine it will be a very popular hotel when these changes have taken place. The only downside is the car parking which is quite restricted as there isn't much room in the hotel car park. However, we were very lucky to find a quiet spot on a side street next to the hotel and we could even keep an eye on the car from our bedroom window. The stay was very enjoyable as it was a lovely base to visit family. We would certainly stay there again.
