Went to a wedding in Scunthorpe and advised on a couple of hotels to stay. This hotel was were the evening reception was to be held, so we booked an executive room.
The car park is large and has two disabled places, which were not abused (which is nice and unusual) and the foyer is large and has a piano situated in it.
We were allocated a room above the function room as 'we were going to be creating the noise' is what the receptionist stated. The room was a nice size but miles from the reception area. We asked to be moved nearer to the only staircase onto the first floor, no lift. This was not a problem, but we went to a double room. We again asked to be moved and got a lovely large room, with a double bed, large flat screen television and a two seater settee and a chair, around a table. The en-suite bathroom was up one step and was well lit and large.
I can appreciate the comment about the shower. It was either pipping hot or freezing cold. There was no in between.
The food was acceptable in the morning. A self service section on the Saturday morning for cereals, bread and juice and a full English was freshly prepared and brought to the table.
On the Sunday morning, as the hotel was full, it was a self service beakfast, so back to school style, with the warm food that had been cooked earlier. The chef did offer to cook a fresh breakfast and you could ask for any type of egg, which they did for you without any fuss.
On the whole, it was an enjoyable stay in sunny Scunny. The staff were friendly and even offered to comp us two tickets for the 'Robbie Williams tribute night' which was above and beyond what we expected.

Nice room, helpful staff.
Good bar snacks and a nice pint of Caffreys.
Breakfast was above average
Good value for a 3 star hotel and preferable to a Travel Lodge
