Its like any other travel motel. It wants to be more but the bar / restaurant and general old feeling of the reception prevent that from happening. Whilst i was there they had football on the TV every night; thats fine in a bar but the bar is also the restaurant. I guess all the meeting rooms are more profitable for them.
The room was not bad it was large and had reasonable AC. I didn't like the bed it was just too soft; but i had just bought a new mattress at home. I am not sure why they have such a small bathroom given the massive size of the room overall. My bathroom had a nice damp smell.
The internet access was very good value and the speed was more than acceptable.
Shrewsbury desperately needs some good quality hotels, this one is ok for a few nights. Though its location is very strange; and whilst i was there the industrial park was getting its roads refitted which may explain the lack of signs to the hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel the month of March, as we were celebrating our anniversary. On our approach to the reception area we were greeted by the receptionist, (long blonde hair, mid thirties), she remembered dealing with our reservation, and sending us a map out also to help us find the hotel. We had a excellent welcome. I further spoke to the lady in question later on in the evening, to ask if it was possible to arrange a surprise birthday cake for my wife the following day, she said to leave it with her she would see what she could do.
The following evening the lady came down to my room and spoke to me, and I went with her to the reception area, where she had bought in an amazing cake for my wife! Later on when my wife and I sat down for evening meal, the young lady personally dealt with us, serving us starters and meal. Then when the meal was over the lady and a pleasant young man brought the cake to our table and sang "Happy Birthday", to my wife, to which the resturaunt clapped and my wife shed a tear. This was a memorable occasion that we both will not forget and were most grateful. The lady even requested I rung her when returning home, as we were travelling a long way, to make sure we got home safely. The hotel was also excellent, clean, bright and excellent staff .
