I recently spent 5 nights here with a traveling companion. I booked based on reviews found on this site. I was very well satisfied. While not located in the middle of the town, it is a very short walk to the center. The hotel was very quiet in spite of a pub adjacent and an Indian Restaurant across the street. Our room faced the street, but we weren't ever disturbed by any noise. Though, I could hear early morning traffic, which wasn't a problem for me as I always awake.
I was there during the 2007 flooding. However, the hotel was well above the water level, though only a short distance from the river.
The room was clean, however, I don't think our room was vacuumed while we were there, as some little bits of paper we dropped always seemed to be in the same place.
The room, with 2 beds was quite compact. However, most of the problem was the amount of luggage, between the 2 of us having 4 large cases.
Breakfast was fine. As well as serve yourself cold items--cereal, juice, and fruit, a Full English was included.
The only complaint was the size of the bathroom. Less that 60 inches square. There wasn't an inch of extra room. The only problem was drying myself, had I been alone, I'd have stepped in the room, but with a friend present, I confined myself to the tiny shower to dry and then dressed standing between the sink and commode. Stretching my arms out, I could more than touch each wall.
The place was apparently booked the entire time we were there based on the number of people having breakfast and car park.
Still, I would stay there again. I felt very safe in the surrounding area, an important factor for middle age women traveling.

The fact this hotel has parking and is centrally located are both great bounses. The rest of the stay in this hotel was a great disappointment. I booked a 'delux double', I couldn't honestly see what I was paying the extra money for comparted to a normal double. It was like staying at a very basic B & B. The breakfast was just ok.....I wouldn't stay here again.
All in all a very disappointing stay.
