The Windsor Carlton Hotel - Guest House - Ventnor, United Kingdom     

We stayed for a weekend in June 2008 in room 5, which is lovely, has fantastic views of the sea and a four-poster bed (certainly NOT IKEA!). Very clean with a good-sized bathroom with bath. The whole place had recently been refurbished and it has been done to a very high standard. We had breakfast in the new Breakfast Room , which was very bright and airy. There was plenty of choice and the service was good. The food was also very good and set us up for the day! All in all we had a lovely stay - great place in a fantastic location - highly recommended. Although I should point out that TRIP ADVISOR'S details on this hotel are completely wrong as it only had five rooms, not 13 as stated here, did not accept children (one of the reasons we chose it!) and the photos here seem to be of a completely different hotel too!

We stayed at the windsor carlton for a weekend in June 08. We stayed in Room No 1 right on the very top floor with a fantastic view of the sea and beachfront. The room was a good size but the bathroom was very small. For me it was fine but for my husband he found it a squeeze in the shower. Breakfast is really good. Theres a very good menu available, full of variety. It is a short downward stroll to the beachfront which is full of great restaurants. Its a bit harder coming back up the hill. The town is just around the corner with the bus stop taking you to all major towns. It was quite quiet when we were here in Ventnor but probably as the weather wasnt that nice. Overall we had a nice relaxing weekend away from busy London.
