a beautiful spot , that is where the hotel is , sandwiched between the canal and the river one would think this would and could be a goldmine. our rooms were quite frankly dirty , my mum decided to clean hers herself..we didnt bother , but we did commit the heinous act of smoking in a smoking room that we had booked. this was duly observed by the local stutzstaffeln and we were severely reprimanded. the management seem very confused as to the laws about smoking in hotel rooms in wales and even more confused by pricelines booking criteria. breakfast was good though , when you managed to find someone to show you to your table , the beer was also nice but getting someone to serve it to you proved difficult on occasion. i have just received an email 2 months after writing to complain and after contacting head office. they would prefer people like me to stay away and feel that my email address is indicative of my intelligence..hey ho. my advice would be to get a tent and camp in the idyllic location , that way you will get the view without the patronising , unprofessional and , frankly , unhygienic experience of staying at the chainbridge.

My partner and myself had decided to take a well earned break from our usual busy lives and just decided to drive to North Wales. Upon our arrival in Llangollen we decided to take a trip on a stream train, what took us past what we class now to be our little oasis. as we were taken past The Chainbridge hotel on the train we decided that we had to go and find it and take a look. When we asked in town for directions to the hotel the locals were very helpful and friendly and told us where exactly to find it. As we arrived there we parked in a car park situated above the hotel and were at first a little disappointed as we thought that this was the only car park and it was down some rather old steps. But on getting down the steps we found there was another car park by the hotel. We waked in a were greated by a very helpful and polite young lady who offered to show us round. We instantly fell in love with the room and it's wonderful views. Our room had it's own balcony even. We took it as you can guess. We settled in and felt at home right away. The only down side with the room was the bathroom although very clean it was a little dated but hay. We were only going to stay one night in llangollen and were going to move on deeper into wales but we decided that we had to stay here and travel out for the days after sampling the Chefs cooking in their Delightful resturant and spending time with the wonderful and polite staff. We will most definatly be back and have recommended it to all our friends and family.
