The White Horse Hotel is a Georgian-fronted building set in the heart of Hertingfordbury village. All 42 bedrooms are now fully air-conditioned.
The Georgian facade of the White Horse actually belies a much older interior, with oak beams dating back 400 years. However, this comfortable hotel has recently undergone a total refurbishment and now offers all modern facilities and a very high standard. Many of the spacious bedrooms overlook the picturesque and extensive gardens, where lunch and drinks are served in the summer. Conference and meeting facilities are available in our stylish 'Lea and Beane' room. The capacity is 50 people theatre-style and 24 people boardroom-style. The room offers air conditioning and natural daylight. Tea and coffee, buffet lunches and dinners are also available. Close to local attractions such as Hatfield House (7 miles), historic Hertford (2 miles) and Paradise Wildlife Park (5 miles), the hotel is also conveniently placed for the business traveller, with easy access to the M25, M1, A1 and A10. The hotel is approximately 30-35 minutes from both Stansted (19 miles) and Luton airport (21 miles).

We stayed here after a friends wedding, having been to the reception in Mayflower Place just round the corner.
We were pretty impressed with the rooms as we were expecting a typically B&B type room; the room was a good size with large cupboard and storage area opposite the bathroom in entrance hall as you enter the room. Bed too was a good size, there was a leather sofa, coffee table, TV on dressing table area, trouser press (though an iron & ironing board in large cupboard also) and a fair size bathroom. Only thing missing was a mini fridge!
Having checked in earlier in the day we didn't get back to the White Horse until late; though pleased to find the bar still open for while and there was no problem with a small group of us sitting in the bar area talking for a while longer.
The meal area at breakfast was nice and could imagine that in summer time you could enjoy meals outside which looked very inviting. Overall our stay was better than expected though it was only a stop over hotel for us that night.

Used this hotel for my wife's birthday. 18 Guests stayed overnight and all were very satified with rooms and service. The birthday meal was well executed and the waiters excelled in service and entertainment. (male waiter was definitely a showman). Breakfast was good and help yourself to cereals and the fry up was as requested. Night Porter doubles as night barman, and the heavy drinkers can find this a bit of a bind.
Overall a nice place to stay.
