The Kenbury Hotel is in a quiet location somewhere between Sandown and Shanklin, about 10-15 mins walking distance to the beach and 20-25 mins walking to Shanklin Chine park. We stayed in a double room in July 2007, adequate size for the price paid - 28 pounds per person, clean towels, bed and bathroom. Windows are not double glazed, just ordinary ones with some chinks so there was some draught from the door when the wind was strong. Rooms 7 (where we stayed) and 8 are located just above the bar area so you will hear music in the morning and evening and conversations till about 11.30pm, otherwise it is quiet. Sound insulation is poor but this is the problem for almost all hotels in Britain. For all other aspects, things are just fine there! Parking free, ample full English breakfast, friendly owners Adrian and Sue who bought this hotel about one year ago. There is a snooker table just near the bar area and a table tennis outside. The double bed in our room was more than a king size. Adrian even turned on central heating in the evening of one day which was especially cold and windy - almost unheard thing in Britain where people have got used to cold. Will stay again but maybe in another room to avoid the bar noise.
