I wish I had read the reviews before I booked this hotel. The MARTA is not within walking distance, at least not in my definition of walking distance. It does seem that questionable neighborhoods are close by. If I had not been with my husband when I got off the MARTA at 8:15 p.m., I would have been even more concerned about walking back to the hotel. We left after 1 night because of the location. Underground Atlanta, Georgia Dome, Centenial Park - all too far to walk. No convenient restaurants, convenience stores - it seems like the only thing in the area other than Turner Field.
As for the hotel itself, it seemed OK. Breakfast was the only meal we ate, and it was fine but overpriced.
Pay more and stay somewhere else!

The Bad:
- Hidden parking charge. They charge you $16 a day to park your car.. and you have to park it yourself.
- No vent in Bathroom = MOLD. You could smell the mold when you walked into the room and there were big patches on the ceiling in the shower where they had replaced rotten drywall.
- Bed was as comfortable as sleeping on just a boxspring
- Not to Nitpick, but the T.P. in the bathroom was about as cheap as you can buy. I think using #10 grit sandpaper would have been more comfortable.
- Hop skip and a jump from some very bad neighborhoods. To get anywhere other than Turner field you have to drive. Hotel is NOT convenient to the MARTA station.
- Everyone I spoke with recommended we stay away from the restraunt. We never ate at it because of several different folks saying that it was really bad.
- I asked for an early checkout and was assured that the receipt would be under my door at 3AM. At 6 AM I went to front desk to get my receipt (it was not under my door) and they said they couldnt give me one because they had not run the reports. Young man at desk assured me he would Fax the receipt to me first thing and took my info. 24 Hours later I still have not received a receipt for my stay.
The Good:
- Staff was friendly
- Elevators worked well
- Hotel was clean
- Window AC in room was quiet
Overall it was not a bad experience but there are many things wrong with how this hotel is marketed (upscale) and the reality. The reality is this is simply a tall version of a slightly below average Holiday Inn. I could have gotten the same room and service if this were a hotel where you back your car up to the rooms door. The mold problems, hidden and excessive parking charges for guests, to Waffle House bathroom quality toilet paper, and below average customer service make this hotel NOT worth the money and not worth a 3 star rating.
