A beautiful period building with wonderful architecture both inside and out, just 5 minutes’ walk from town and adjacent to the railway station on the outskirts of Northallerton.
Formerly known as the Horse and Jockey in the 1700s, it was a busy place next to the racecourse and grandstand. Renamed in 1800 and transformed in 1901, the hotel has a colourful history.
The main bar features period designs and an open fire place. The newly refurbished lounge/bistro bar is a smaller meeting place and is non-smoking. An attractive function room is situated off the main hall. It is available for many uses: private parties, buffets, and committee meetings. Bar lunches and traditional Sunday lunches are served.

Our cosy breakfast room is open from 07:00 to 08:30 on weekdays, and from 08:30 to 09:30 at weekends. A full English Breakfast is served, as well as cereals and fruit.Bar lunches are available Monday to Friday from 12:00 until 14:00. A full menu is now being served Monday to Friday, from 17:00 until 20:00. A copy can be emailed on request. Sunday lunches are served every Sunday from 12:00 until 14:00.
The Coffee Dock is also now open, serving barista-style coffee beverages for take-out and drink-in during regular opening hours.
