Location

MapThe Charles is within walking distance of Cape Quarter and all of its great shops. Cape Quarter is an area of home décor, art and artefacts, fashion, beauty, health and lifestyle-related stores all delivered in a unique Cape Malay setting. This is where the best of Cape Town people are drawn together, attracted by the authentic ambience of great restaurants and eateries, shops and offices. Cape Quarter is the essence of Cape Town cool.

Victoria & Alfred Waterfront (5 km) - Situated in the heart of Cape Town’s working harbour, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is well established as Cape Town’s premier shopping and tourist destination. Boutiques, restaurants, hotels, outdoor theatre and leisure cruises are just a few of the many attractions on offer.

Table Mountain (15 km) -With its extraordinarily rich, diverse and unique flora, this singular landmark is what makes Cape Town immediately recognisable all over the world. Its rugged cliffs, steep slopes and sandy flats make Table Mountain a phenomenal natural, scenic, historical, cultural and recreational asset for locals and visitors alike. Nowhere else in the world does an area of such awesome beauty and such rich bio-diversity exist almost entirely within a metropolitan area, the thriving and cosmopolitan city of Cape Town.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (25 km) - Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.
Kirstenbosch grows only indigenous South African plants. The estate covers 528 hectares and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest. The cultivated garden (36 hectares) displays collections of South African plants, particularly those from the winter rainfall region of the country. It was founded in 1913.

Clifton (15 km) - The windless beaches of Clifton are probably Cape Town’s most famous and you'll find them packed with beautiful and trendy people. In summer, these are the beaches to frequent if you want to catch a glimpse of the rich and famous.

Clifton has four adjoining coves each accessed via a walk down stone stairways between luxurious bungalows to white sands. Bikinis and sunbathing are more the order of the day than swimming, as the water of the Atlantic Ocean is often bracingly cold.
