Hotel Elizabeth Rockingham - Corby, United Kingdom 

All I can say is: I showed up here, having booked it for a short business trip mainly on the location and availability of internet access in my room. However, when I tried to log onto the internet on arriving in my room it didn't work: so they moved me to another room. It still didn't work. They sent their manager to help me and not only was he completely technically incompetent, but he was rude, dismissive, patronising and even slightly intimidating in the way he used his body language to stand over me. The problem with their internet was one I have occasionally seen at other hotels, but they always have someone who can help sort it out (something to do with IP addresses not being picked up). I left immediately and found the wonderful Hunting Lodge in Cottingham (have reviewed it). So I can't comment on anything else about the Hotel Elizabeth. They did at least let me leave without charging me, so that was a point in their favour, and the receptionist (who seemed rather long-suffering) did help by phoning me a taxi and giving me some other hotel numbers.

I live just round the corner from this hotel and frequently use the bar facilities. Since some of these reviews were written the hotel has suffered a fire resulting in some parts of the hotel being totally re-furbished. I have attended several functions here over the past few months and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. I can't comment on the bedrooms but the bar, restaurant and function rooms are all exactly what you would expect of this type of 3/4 star hotel. It is just across the road from Rockingham Castle and just a short drive away from Market Harborough, Uppingham and Rutland Water. it is an ideal location for exploring North Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire.
