Aberdour Hotel address: 38 High Street, Aberdour, KY3 0SW

Aberdour Hotel details: A friendly, family-run hotel situated in one of Fife's picturesque coastal villages, specialising in fresh fare, using local Scottish produce where possible.

Real ale is always available on tap, and the establishment has once again been included in this year’s ‘Camra’ Good Beer Guide. Although the buildings date back to the 17th century, all 16 bedrooms have en suite facilities, and tea and coffee making facilities.

The hotel is an ideal base for touring, golf breaks and for visiting Edinburgh which is just 30 minutes by car/rail, with the station just one minute’s walk away.

a decent hotel, nothing special, but decent. all clean and tidy. comfortable room. very friendly and helpful staff. shower over the bath, have to spray oneself with the handheld shower head. bit odd. but it's a good strong spray, so not actually too bad. a shortage of electricity sockets in the room. kette wouldn't fit in the sink to fill it, had to decant from glasses. an interesting experience, but fine for 1 or 2 nights. £75 quite steep. very lovely wee town. loads of flowers everywhere.

We came down for a six nations rugby match and stayed here. The retaurant and food were superb - the breakfast was plentiful and set us up for the day. The bar staff were very friendly and chatty and all made us feel very welcome. We had a room in the converted stable annexe, it was clean and comfortable with a tv, coffee/tea/biscuits and extras such as shower gel and boxes of tissues. We took the train into edinburgh which took less than 30mins and the station is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not think twice about booking again.
