Corr's Corner Hotel - Newtownabbey, United Kingdom 2 star hotel

Address: 315 Ballyclare Road, Newtownabbey, BT36 4TQ
Corr's Corner Hotel details:  This family run hotel, conveniently situated on the M2/A8 junction, offers comfortable accommodation with easy access for Belfast and Larne.

Opened in 1919, this popular roadhouse underwent renovation and expansion in 2006 to include new conference, wedding and banqueting facilities.

As a landmark roadhouse, Corr’s Corner offers a choice of dining rooms, the buzzing and lively atmosphere of the Lady R Bar & Grill or the serene, more relaxed Corriander Room. After a recent major investment, the hotel has become a modern hotel that retains, however, a traditional and charming feel.

The hotel’s Lady R Bar & Grill, one of the busiest grill rooms in Northern Ireland, radiates with the buzz of friendly chatter. High ceilings and high picture windows complement the use of dark woods and stone, plush fabrics and Tiffany style lighting, and create a relaxing and inviting ambiance.

The Cedar Suite function room has been purpose built to cater for all types of special events, accommodating from 8 to 60 people. From a small intimate dinner party to a business meeting or seminar, our management team will continually be on hand to assist you through every stage of your event.

Facilities for guests with disabilities feature throughout the building. Fully adapted ground floor disabled friendly bedrooms and cloakroom facilities are also readily available.

We stayed at the Corr's Corner hotel for a week in June '08 and we were delighted with our stay. It was fantastic in every way and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Northern Ireland. The hotel is beautifully decorated, very homely and incredibly comfortable. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy the stay. My partner and I were staying with our young son, who is nearly six months old. The staff, who were always very polite and courteous, made us feel right at home. They were incredibly helpful and friendly. It's always refreshing to see a high standard of customer service, and it helped make this a memorable stay for us. The breakfasts were delicious and the breakfast bar was very well presented. There was a great variety on the menu; the food was of a very high quality. The cooked breakfast, in particular, was top-notch. The Corriander Restaurant, where we ate every night, was fantastic. The hotel is close to a lot of eateries, but we ended up having our dinner in the hotel restaurant every night. That's only because the food was so good. I was visiting family, so know that the food here was better than anywhere else I had tried in the locale! The dinners were reasonably priced and the restaurant had a nice ambience. I would recommend that, anyone wishing to visit Belfast (especially those who want a bit more tranquility than the big city Hotels), stay at Corr's Corner. It's situated in a quiet and convenient location. The hotel is only about a 5 minute walk from a brilliant bus route and 10 minutes walk from the local shops. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in Glengormley. The bus ride to Belfast only takes about 15-20 minutes and the buses are very frequent. Overall, the hotel is a gem and we will be staying here next time we visit. Top marks!

My son, his partner and my 6 month old grandson stayed here last week when they were visiting from Scotland and they LOVED the place. We live locally and have dined in the hotel restaurant many times but this is the first time it has been necessary for any of our family to stay in the hotel. But it won't be the last after the wonderful stay they have just enjoyed there! The room was lovely and spacious and the staff are so friendly and welcoming - a real home from home and as for the food - the food was superb and the service excellent. Location is also excellent and for those of you who want to see the Glens of Antrim it is superbly placed whilst at the same time, there is an excellent bus service into the centre of Belfast which goes down the M2 and you are from hotel into Belfast city centre in 15 mins! My son and his family were there for 6 nights and could easily and happily have stayed for much longer as they had a superb time at Corrs Corner. RECOMMENDED TO ALL!!
