I've just got back from a lovely week with my wife at the St Andrews Hotel Newquay.
I had read lots of reviews and articles telling us to avoid Newquay, but I'm glad we took no notice and decided to go ahead. Newquay is a beautiful town, with excellent facilities and restaurants, and the hustle and bustle, and noise, is perfectly bearable - even amusing at times.
And the St Andrews Hotel was just what we were looking for. We had a superior double room, with an absolutely great view over the sea. The room was very spacious, tidy and clean. And the resident owners, Carol and Ian, made us feel welcome from the beginning. They helped us with a few suggestions on what to visit in Cornwall and where to eat, and showed us a really nice walk along the coastal path to a wonderful pub for lunch. And they served us a great breakfast every morning!
All in all an extremely enjoyable stay.
