This has obviously been quite a grand hotel in it's day but is now extremely dated and shabby. Our bathroom smelt unpleasant and one of the windows in the bedroom was broken and covered over with a board. It advertises a car park but this is in fact a space round the side for about 5 cars which seems to be used for staff parking in the main, so quests have to pay to use the car park at the bottom of the road. On a plus note, the 2 guys running the hotel were very pleasant and helpful and the food was good tho' not very plentiful....I certainly wouldn't be in a hurry to stay here again.....

We, two single girls, turned up to find a dining room full of old people, but they were checking out the next day, and didn't bother us - we were there for the nightlife. Received a lovely welcome from the two gentlemen who run the hotel and were shown to a good size and clean room with all the facilities promised to us - even a car parking space. Breakfast was what you would expect and set us up nicely for the day. The location is absolutely superb, walk to the end of the street, cross over and you are on Tolcarne Beach - beautiful, you are also then in pub zone, though you cannot hear this in the hotel. Oh yes, it also has a lift, which was handy for getting our bags up the stairs easily, though we did get a little lost finding our room, but that was probably us rather than the hotel! Overall, an enjoyable stay.
