A pleasant little hotel, staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, room, dated but clean with tv, kettle etc. Only 1 complaint, the 'Do Not Disturb' sign was on my door, and the cleaner walked in! Could have been very embarrassing for both of us!! Ate dinner in the hotel once and was very surprised at how good the food was, definitely recommend. Found a gorgeous little restaurant to eat in, called B-Lo, you simply take the road the hotel is on as if you were walking up to the town centre, and the 2nd turning on your right you will find this delight. The menu changes on a daily basis with beautifully cooked dishes and wines to choose from.

We stayed at the Park Hotel on 18 July 2007, the night before the start of the British Open in Canoustie (15 miles south on Montrose). We stopped at the Tourist Information office in Stonehaven and they said this was the last triple room available in the area. We paid 130 GBP for a triple including breakfast. The room was large, but the furniture and carpeting was worn, the window was stuck partially open. The refurbishment referred to in other posts is apparently not completed. For what we got, we felt the place was way overpriced. The restaurant was nice but the waiter was very unpleasant (very rude). This was the only unpleasant experience we had in three weeks of travel throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Paris. Much to our dismay, we got the same waiter the next morning for breakfast (I know, what we resist, persists).
