Old Mill Hotel - Motherwell, United Kingdom 

After finding no rooms at the Premier Travel Inn we headed into Motherwell and passed a sign pointing to the Old Mill Hotel. We circled back and followed the signs to the most beautiful and peaceful place we stayed during our 2 week trip motoring through Scotland. Located on a flowing stream, the hotel is a converted mill, with the old machinery visible in the bar. The owners were friendly and helpful, the room we stayed in was clean, comfortable and overlooked a patio with flowers and a covered arbor. The hotel is self contained with restarant and bar. We paid about 60 pounds for 2 of us and that included a full breakfast. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit.
