The Lion Hotel is superbly located within easy access of the A1, M1, M18 and only twenty minutes from Doncaster Sheffield International airport. Situated in the quaint market town of Worksop, the hotel is an ideal base to discover Robin Hood Country, The Dukeries, Clumber Park and Meadowhall to name just a few. The hotel has over the years been updated, expanded and modernized but always in keeping with the originality of the building where history documents show that parts of the hotel date back as far as 1601.

Location
Another of the National Trust's property within Worksop is Mr Straw's House. The house once owned by William Straw, a local grocer, has stood untouched and unaltered since 1923 and has been preserved as a guided museum.
In the town centre itself you will find numerous shops and amenities plus a large market every weds, fri and saturday with a farmers market held every second Friday of the month. The hotel is close to Sheffield and Meadowhall and also to Doncaster for the Lakeside Shopping Centre and the Race Course.

All 46 bedrooms have en suite facilities, direct dial telephone, remote control color television, trouser press, hairdryer and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities.Executive rooms are available and comprise of a larger bedroom with either a two seater sofa or two comfy armchairs. The bathrooms are large with separate shower and bath as well as a bidet.
Family Rooms are available with sofa beds or a family suite which comprises of a twin bedded room, a double bedded room, a lounge and a shared bathroom. One of the family suites also has a kitchen.
In addition to this the hotel has a number of feature rooms including the Rufford Suite with an American queen size mud bed; the Thorsby with a large brass bed; the Welbeck with a canopy bed and sunken bathroom with corner bath and the Manvers with a large bed with an over head canopy.

Bar 114 is a traditional English pub with low beamed ceilings. The menu is traditional home made cooking serving snacks from jacket potatoes to gammon steak and homemade pie. Steak night is run every Wednesday evening and a carvery is available every Sunday Lunch. The bar serves a wide variety of ales, spirits, wines by the glass, soft drinks and it also has a large hot drinks menu.Savannahs restaurant and lounge offers a more intimate environment which is more modern and contemporary in décor and design.
