Novotel Milton Keynes - Milton Keynes, United Kingdom 

I wish I had read these Reviews before I booked here. I normally stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Milton Keynes which is far better I arrived late and the first impression was a large group of men sitting round the entrance smoking which was hardly inviting Staff initially seemed more concerned to attend to a person who was trying to find directions to another hotel than me. Otherwise the staff were polite and efficient The room itself was Novotel standard which is fine - well proportioned and a good sized bed I was considering a room service meal but there were no hotel instructions on serving times so I decided not to bother I did not find the first major problem until I rolled back the bed cover. It was obvious that the sheets, pillow cases and duvet cover had not been changed since the last occupant. There were hairs in the bed. Not wanting to change rooms at this time I stripped off the bedding and found two fresh, spare pellows in a cupboard Next morning I noticed in the bathroom linen was used and had been left there. Fortunately, again, there was a spare towel but is smelt unpleasant There were used toiletries which had not been replaced The final horror was a tea/coffee saucer full of cigarette ash This is not what I would expect from Novotel and I will not be staying there again

I booked this hotel for one night and thought the room was nice. The only problem was it was very warm, and there was no air conditioning, only a heating thermostat. You could open the window a small amount, but the room was still warm. Breakfast was very nice and the staff were very helpful.
