After reading the reviews I was dreading my stay at the Landsdowne! I was pleasantly suprised. My single room on the top floor was large, clean with beams and a chandelier! I was expecting a shower only but had a nice big bath too. The staff were very friendly and polite. Every day I got clean towels and restocked tea and coffee. I would definately stay there again. For the price and the convenience it suited me just fine.

Booked this hotel for a 1-night stay. Very shabby on the exterior, and the interior is worse. General Reception area is a shambles, corridors to rooms are like you would expect in a third world country, and the room was dreadful (huge patches of wallpaper missing, furniture that would look more at home on a skip). It was so bad that we checked out and did not stay. If you're thinking about using this hotel as a decent place to stay - DON'T !!

We have just stayed in this hotel we booked 2 family rooms, the kids rooms was big but the stench of sewerage and stale smoke was horrific, my husband had to buy a air freshner spray to try to make it bearable for the kids to sleep in for the 3 nights we were there. The lift was broke although from reading other reviews it seems it has not been in use for a number of years. Staff are present in body only and seem to have no time for small talk with guests, actually it was as though we were in the way. No bar food although we were led to believe there would be when we were booking. Price was cheap ok but we would rather pay the extra for the service. Beds were rock solid, with only one pillow per person, rooms in dire need of redecorating!! No trap in sink in bathroom, plug in tv was in 2 pieces. Tiles were broken in bathrooms, mould all over ceilings, I could go on an on.............. Overall we wont be going back, the lad on reception at night was friendly enough and helpful. Would recommend this hotel for a gang of lads going to a football match and looking for somewhere to get there head down, the location is very central, taxi to football stadium is only £10. Defintely not for a romantic weekend or a family trip!
