NOT A SERVICED APARTMENT HOTEL AT ALL Posted: Sun, Jun 15 2008

Booked a two bedroom apartment at this "luxurious" Serviced apartment hotel in Manchester. Let me tell you first of all its not "luxurious" and the location is not very good as its on a building site. The staff, well the security guard that was in reception was very rude and didn't have a clue about anything. This is not a hotel - you get a apartment that is iin a residential building, and the resident are going mad as they have paid a fortune for a city centre apartment and now having to live with the fact that its a "hotel" operation. Watch this space - it will not last for long. I think the public will soon go back to the Full service Hotels and these socalled Serviced Apartment hotels will disapare. Good luck - you will never see me again.
I booked 2 x 2 bed apartments in the Left Bank building on 3rd June and advised 2 other groups of people to book in the same building for my daughters 21st birthday on Sat 14th July. The only reason for wanting to stay in this building is that my daughter, whose birthday it was, lives there and the celebration was booked close by.
A lovely family weekend, or so I thought until 2 of our group were telephoned a couple of weeks before to advise them they had been moved to another apartment in another part of the city. Upon our and other family members arrival at 11.30 am we were also phoned to tell us we also had to be moved to another apartment in yet another part of the city.
After being informed of our problem by the lady who said she had only recently joined the Company and did not have any further explanation other than she had just found out that contractors had disconnected the water in the apartments, I asked to speak to a line manager and was told that no line manager was either available or prepared to talk to me. I find this amazing as this company are in the service industry and it was 11.30am on a Saturday morning, especially as she was so inexperienced. I asked why we had not been informed prior to arrival and was told that the contractors had not informed anyone about the water being turned off until that morning. Again amazing as there were posters all over the building dated a week previously advising everyone of the water problem.
The lady eventually arrived to move us up in 2 taxis, one for her and one for herself??!!?? I was given the business cards of both her MD and Ops Director and told that they would telephone me the following Monday. Two weeks later and I am still waiting for a call from either of them.
The apartments in the Lock Building we were relocated to ?
Very average to be honest but certainly not ''luxurious''
The whole episode took the shine off a special family event.
