4We booked the Premier Apartments through Late Rooms but would have saved ?4 if we had booked direct through the hotel's own website. You have to pre-register any car details for the secure parking and the reception staff were very friendly and professional on the phone.
On arrival the reception is easy to miss as it sort of looks like a small office from the outside. The secure parking is a tad tricky to find as it is not at the front of the hotel, but down a back street. This was the worst bit of the hotel. Once you have checked in you are given a key card and security code to access the hotel from the front, and another code to access the hotel from the carpark. Pre-check in however you have to walk from the carpark up the dingy side street (complete with drug addict slumped on the pavement). It would be better if during reception hours there was some sort of speakerphone on the carpark security code pad to gain access. Check-in was quick and efficient. It said on the website and email from Late Rooms that proof of identity (eg passport) and ?250 deposit would be required but neither was requested.
Our booking was for a 2 bedroom apartment. Most of the apartment is carpeted although the hallway and bathrooms are wood. It was very clean. The only negatives that I can identify are that several of the curtains were hanging off the rails (the hangers were broken) which looked a bit downtrodden and the lounge window was filthy with large smudges down it where people had pressed against it. That should have been cleaned.
Otherwise though the apartment was very clean. There was 2 small couches, coffee table, tv, stereo, kitchen table and chairs (would have been a squeeze for 4 people to eat at). Lots of kitchen workspace, a few coffee/tea bags, milk and biscuits (broken!). There is an ironing board, fridge and washing machine. A few generic toiletries and ample towels (no flannels). The bedrooms were comfortable. The ensuite was a decent size, the other a bit small but fine for the purpose, and both had floor length mirrors which is just what you need when you're all girls getting ready for a night out!
Location is perfect for the MEN arena. Only took 15 mins to walk there from Piccadilly station, and about 5 to the MEN. Also took about 5 mins max to walk down to the Printworks and the big wheel.
We checked out before reception opened so had to leave our keycards in a postbox - that was quite a squeeze! If lots of people did this it would be a problem.
For the money and purpose we were impressed.
