The Etrop Grange is a lovely, quaint hotel. We stayed for one night before an early morning flight with another couple.
The staff were very efficient. We did not have a meal at the restaurant but enjoyed a couple of drinks at the bar!
Our rooms, although small (but huge compared with New York) were very comfortable. It is like staying in a country house. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially in winter as it has a nice 'cosy' feel.
I stay at this hotel often as I my company sends me on training courses in Manchester a couple of times a year.
The rooms are a good size and well equipped, plenty of biscuits :) with the recent addition of air-con in the rooms (although mine conks out after 10 minutes).
The staff are very good indeed, much better than you normally get. There seems to be a genuine culture of looking after your needs which is missing from so many hotels. They are friendly and efficient.
The food is above average, especially breakfast.
This hotel offers free wireless broadband which I'm using to post this review. Given that many hotels charge ?15 a day for Internet access this represents a big saving if you stay for a while.
Most hotels I stay in I wouldn't stay in again. I've been here four times now. That's uncommonly good. I recommend this hotel.
