During my visit to Manchester, me & my partner chose to stay at the britannia Country House Hotel, located close to manchester city centre. Although before booking a room at the hotel, we visited www.Tripadviser.com and read the reveiws, inwhich many people chose to comment on the standard of their accomadation. On arrival our first thoughts were well presented to a reasonable standared. On checking in we were greeted very pleasently by two of your receptionists, who then issued us with our room-key. we got into the lift and got out on the 3rd floor which our room was located on. Although being given the wrong key to our room, my partner then went back to reception to change keys. The room that we booked was one of your EXECUTIVE rooms, which we found (VERY COMFORTABLE), and the presentation & cleanliness of the room was of a (HIGH STANDARD), although the decor was slightly dated! breakfast was lovely and staff were very friendly. Overall we had a great stay and would reccommend this hotel to others, without a doubt!!

Room could do with an update, carpet and decor very jaded. However hotel bar and grounds were very good. Location not bad for bus journey into Manchester city centre. Bus stop short walk from hotel. Make sure to buy a Day Rider bus ticket which gives you unlimited bus travel that day, regular single into centre only 50p cheaper.

almost cancelled after reading other reviews but glad we didn't.Had 3 rooms,2 triples and one twin.the former were great, one king size and one double in each room.Huge jaccuzzi baths, lovely toileteries loads of goodies on the hospitality tray. The twin was in the old part and not so great but perfectly adequate. We had a really early start for the airport and the electricilty was due to be off between 01.30 and 04.00 for essentail maintenance work.the staff were wonderful and were on each corridor to help with cases etc: all in all well worth the money..transfers very good too.

OK for overnight stay near to airport. Facilities in room poor (poor tele, tea making etc). public phones didn't work. Be careful you get off bus at right hotel, there are two with same name one mile apart. Transfer to airport was OK. Single room was questionable value for ?49.
