"Very nice hotel for the money!"

We booked one of the deluxe rooms with the four poster bed, and it was just the same as in the photo! The jazuzzi bath was wonderful and the reception area was very modern and stylish. Excellent location for the middle of town and the pubs and clubs - it's just a short stagger home at 2am! Maybe the other rooms were different, but a great view of Picadilly Gardens from the front balcony. Will be back!

8 of us stayed in the hotel on 13/14 May as we were in Manchester for the UEFA Cup Final. From the hotel website the place looked nice, however, I was a bit concerned by the cheapness of a city centre hotel (?65 per room per night B&B). The hotel cannot be any more centrally located - in the heart of Manchester city centre and opposite Picadilly Gardens. It is a basic hotel and you definately get what you pay for. I would agree with most people & say that the hotel needs a wee revamp. A lick of paint/freshen up would do! Our rooms were all clean which is the main thing. They were basic though and did the job for a party of football fans. Everything in the room worked and other than being dated I really have no complaints. Breakfast was very nice. Plenty of everything you need and the service was very good also. Staff were helpful and friendly. The bar is tiny & was staffed by restaurant staff. We arrived at 1.30am and they served some of our party all night! All in all the hotel is fine. I would go back if I could not find anything else but that's personal choice. One thing I will commend the hotel for was their helpfulness and willingness to give us shelter when the idiotic riots broke out! They locked us in the hotel so we were all safe. This I was HIGHLY impressed with as we'd checked out that morning & they were under no obligation to help us. VERY VERY commendable!

We also stayed at the Hotel after going to see Bon Jovi at the City of Manchester Stadium. We had mixed feelings on our room, although the bed was comfortable and we slept well the room was small and the decoration out of date. The shower needed replacing and bath was blocked. We felt like it could do with a refurb. The service was very good - reception staff were knowledgeable and helpful and the staff at breakfast were quick and helpful. The hotel had no parking facillities so we parked closeby at an NCP carpark - although expensive (?15.50 overnight) for us, it is as expected in London. The location was excellent, right in the middle of bars, shops and restaurants (although not many open late on a Sunday!) and the buses were ?1 each just outside the hotel. It was 25 mins walk back from the stadium and we felt safe. Breakfast was good you could have a full english or continental, although the coffee tasted odd...perhaps not Nescafe! Overall we would recommend the hotel based on location and service, and the standard of hotel is what you would expect for the price in London.
