Arrived to find no heating working in the room - had to get a portable heater. The hotel is very dated in it's decor, the furniture in the rooms is poor quality. Breakfast and Dinner served in a "conservatory" that has no heating - needed coats for breakfast. The evening meal was uninspiring and the breakfast poor - served raw sausages. Staff appeared uninterested.

We decided to stay despite the reviews as it suited our needs from a location aspect. The hotel is situated right in the town and for ?80 for a double room with breakfast, you can't go far wrong. The room was comfortable and clean and overlooked the garden it gives the impression of a country house hotel...is it tired and dated-no I don't think it is! We thought the hotel was virtually empty until we came down for breakfast and the dining room was full - so the hotel itself is very quiet after dark! Right in the centre of town with a car park on site - no real complaints!
