The Oceanic Hotel - Khor Fakkan, United Arab Emirates 

This hotel is very useful if you are diving at Divers Down situated right next door but otherwise I can see no reason that you would want to stay here. The place is tatty in lots of areas from the dingy bathrooms to the damp feel to the rooms. The place is very basic and whilst the hotels advertisements boast 'pristine white beaches' you would be very hard pressed to find an part of it either pristine or white! Add the view of the port and the ever present oily scum on the water and you get a measure of the place. The real let down in the hotel however are the staff. They are the most miserable and surely bunch that I have ever come across in any hotel. They really do have an attitude problem and the place would benefit from retraining some of these individuals as to what it means to work in the public service/hospitality industry.

Das Hotel in Khorfakkan an der Ostküste der Emirate istz zwar schon älter aber gut erhalten und liegt direkt am Meer und hat einen eigenen Strandzugang. Im Moment wird am Strand neben dem Hotel gearbeitet, doch diese kaum merkbare Beeinträchtigung sollte ab 2008 nicht mehr bestehen. Das Hotel ist ein älteres Hotel aber die Zimmer (zumindest im ersten Stock) sind neu renoverit, neu eingerichtet und haben Bad mit Fön, Eiskasten und Safe - aber keine Fenster zum Öffnen. Das Frühstück ist gut und ausreichend.
