The Bio- and Wellnesshotel Eggensberger is the first European Union-certified organic-hotel establishment in Allgäu. The philosophy of “healthy living in harmony with nature”, which has been followed by the Eggensberger family for years, has now been logically adapted to incorporate the field of nutrition.

The hotel not only uses products from the family-owned organic farm such as dairy and beef products, but the whole range of food and beverages come exclusively from biologically controlled cultivation. This is possible due to the hotel’s affiliation with the Bioland-Verband, the German Federation for Organic Agriculture). The federation’s requirements are far higher than those prescribed by EU regulations.

Location

Whether you prefer an active holiday or a relaxing break, the surrounding area offers endless possibilities. Keen hikers can explore the level paths (such as the route around lake Hopfensee), higher routes which slope slightly, or the more ambitious mountain paths. The trails are dotted with attractive guesthouses and quaint mountain huts offering refreshments. Alternatively, you could make use of the hotel’s rental bicycles to travel around lake Hopfensee or lake Forggensee.

Tennis fans will appreciate the courts in Hopfen, approximately 500 metres away. They offer wonderful views. Further indoor and outdoor courts can be found in Füssen and Weissensee. Guests who enjoy golf can take advantage of a 25% discount on the green fee on the new golf course in Lechbruck. Driving ranges are available in Schwangau and Bernbeuren, and a further 5 golf courses can be found within an hour of the hotel.

Mountain railways, summer toboggan runs, water sports, horse riding and balloon rides are all on offer nearby. During the winter, well-maintained ski slopes and a first-class network of cross-country ski tracks await. You can also enjoy curling and ice-skating on lake Hopfensee or at Füssen’s ice rink, as well as horse-drawn sleigh rides through the beautiful landscape.
