Location

Linz, the Capital of Upper Austria and the European Capital of Culture 2009, is 35 km away. Attractions include the Lentos Museum of Art, the Ars Electronica Center (Museum of the Future), the Pöstlingberg mountain (pilgrimage church, grotto train, fairy tale world, zoo) and the Botanical Gardens.

The romantic town of Steyr with its 1000-year-old historic centre is only 21 km away. In 20 minutes (20km away) you can reach the historic town of Wels with a castle and other historic sights.

One of Upper Austria’s main sights, the Benedictine Abbey of Kremsmünster is only 400 metres from the hotel. It was founded in 777 by Tassilo, Duke of Bavaria, and features the Tassilo Chalice, the Codex Millenarius, the Emperors’ Hall, the library, the observatory and the winery as its main historical attractions.

The Cistercian Abbey of Schlierbach (15 km) features a wonderful church, an impressive library and Austria’s first cheese dairy open to visitors.

Other attractions in the surrounding area include the Abbey of St. Florian (25 km), one of central Europe’s finest baroque complexes, and Steinbach (10 km) with a historic narrow-gauge railway along the idyllic Steyr Valley Bike Path.
