Central Park Hotel was very clean, and not ridiculously small, just typically european sized. The staff was very nice, and the concierge frequently gave us walking directions, called taxis.
We found it to be a very nice, reasonably priced hotel in a fantastic location- about half a block from beautiful Kensington Gardens, a short walk to Portobello Road and Knightsbridge.
Best location in London. Staff a bit aloof and unprofessional, bed was past it's use by-date, but it's a reasonably priced roof over your head.
Very bad ceck in.. we wait over 35 minutes because there is only 1 computer! Breackfast is not good and there is n luggage deposit!!! very very bad! Noises in the night too and some people knock me 2 times in the night and ring me at phone.
Great location, 5 minutes from Bayswater Underground station. Also the 148 Bus (both stops are 3/4mins from hotel) is very handy link for Victoria Station. Paddington very close too. Vibrant lively interesting area with lots of places to eat or grab a coffee. Hyde park is a joy. Great access for everything. Initial impressions (in the lobby) are good. But this hotel is very far from 4star quality. Perhaps, in rooms out of my budget. But that doesn't excuse the overall unnecessary annoyances.
More like an up market 2star.
We were given a room with NO WINDOW for our first night. The bed was metal framed a sort of temporary/mobile contraption. We had to remove the base and place the mattress on the floor for comfort. Our second night we were put in a room where peanuts were left on the carpet beside the bed. There was obvious damp creeping around the window. All night there was an incessant irritating unlocatable buzzing noise in the background. Again when we woke. We arrived back after 1am and were greeted by our fellow guests banging on the paper thin walls telling us to stop making noise. Even though we were only chatting. There is a basic five channel TV service. Some Islamic language channels are also included. NO SKY NEWS (only at the bar) NO CNN or BBC World. Some electrical sockets worked some didn't. One fridge worked the other didn't. No minibar. No water or biscuits for potential late night travellers. Some sullen staff with disapproving glares. Coffee and tea facilities were basic but enough. It has all the potential of a perfectly positioned budget hotel. That any establishment like this can claim 4stars just because it has concierge service is a joke.
Bayswater great area. Do research all accommodation in the area.
But be sure to ask "does my room have a window?"
