Like another user here, I booked a room at the Quality Hotel Paddington over the internet, and, on arrival, was told that they had experienced a power failure on the whole top floor, and would transfer me to their Hampstead hotel. It advertises rooms much cheaper than the Paddington hotel, and so the hotel chain - I assume - makes money by overbooking. The Paddington hotel looked nice - but wandering around Frognall at 11:45pm trying to find something to eat wasn't nice at all.. Read review

Travel information

By Train:
Almost all main rail stations are on the Circle (yellow) Line. From these take the Circle Line to Paddington Station. From Waterloo Station take the Bakerloo (brown) Line to Paddington Station.

By Underground:
- Travel to Paddington Station using either the Circle (yellow), District (green), Hammersmith & City (pink) or the Bakerloo (brown) Lines.
- Exit onto Praed Street.
- Walk down London Street into Sussex Gardens.
- Turn right into Talbot Square.
- The hotel is on the right-hand side of the garden square (3 minutes' walk).

Or:
- Take the Central Line (red) to Lancaster Gate Station.
- Turn right and right again into Lancaster Terrace.
- Walk up Lancaster Terrace and cross over into Sussex Gardens.
- Talbot Square is the second on the left (5 minutes' walk).

By Car:
- Take the M40 (becomes the A40M) into central London.
- Exit just before the flyover, following the sign to the West End.
- At the lights, turn right into Edgware Road.
- At the second set of lights, turn right into Sussex Gardens.
- Follow the road through a further 2 sets of lights.
- Talbot Square is a right turn immediately after crossing London Street.

From the M4:
- Take the Hammersmith exit.
- Follow the one way system and turn left following signs to Shepherd’s Bush.
- At Shepherd’s Bush, go around Shepherd’s Bush Green and follow signs to the West End.
- This will bring you through Notting Hill Gate and into Bayswater Road.
- At the one way system around the Royal Lancaster Hotel, take the second turning on the left into Westbourne Grove.
- Take the first turning on the right into Sussex Gardens.
- Talbot Square is the second turning on the left.

By Air:
From London Heathrow:
- Take the Heathrow Express Train to Paddington Station.
- Trains depart every 15 minutes and journey time is 15 minutes.
- Then, follow the directions above (By Underground).

From London Gatwick:
- Take the Gatwick Express Train to Victoria station.
Trains depart every 30 minutes and journey time is 40 minutes.
- From Victoria Station take the Circle (yellow) Line to Paddington Station.
- Then, follow the directions above (By Underground).

From London Stansted:
- Take the Stansted Express Train to Liverpool Street Station.
- Trains depart frequently and journey time is 30 minutes.
- From Liverpool Street Station take the Circle (yellow) Line to Paddington station.
- Then, follow the directions above (By Underground).

From London City Airport:
- A shuttle bus leaves frequently to Liverpool Street Station.
