Comfortable Living

Loved the space in the room, the bathroom decor and central heating. Only problem was staff were not very helpful, unfriendly and appeared to have language barrier; but room was so comfortable, I would stay there again!!!

I chose this hotel as part of a package from Virgin Vacations in 2004 and was really pleased! If you are looking for luxury and being catered to, this is not the hotel for you. If you're looking for a charm, a comfortable room, internet access, a filling breakfast, plus a quiet and unbeatable location - by all means, stay here! The only drawbacks are no in-room safe, and the skimpy shower curtains.

A holiday inn hotel is better then this!

Me and my Boyfriend stayed at this hotel last year for Valentines Day, I thought I would write a review as both the thisle hotels on the same street were BAD! We firstly booked to stay at the thisle park hotel which, was the 3* although we thought it was a 4* at the time. Checking in was slow, but finally when we got given our room there was major disappointment, it was extremely small the room, stains on the walls, a chipped sink, broken lamps off the wall by the side of the bed, and for over ?100 a night I would rather stay at a holiday inn hotel. My boyfriend complained, and we were taken to another room which, was just the same, we demanded a refund and we was just going to leave the trip and go home if we did not find another hotel. However, the manager allocated us a room in the Kensington palace hotel next door, which is supposingly a 4* hotel. We got given a suit but we had to pay an extra ?45 for this room. We accepted because the room did look nice and it was very spacious. However, although it look like a lovely room, not only was the bathroom in a terrible state but the bed was no double bed it was two single beds pushed together, by the time we discovered this it was too late. We had an uncomfortable nights sleep with the ditch in the middle, and for ?165 a night this is not what you should be getting! All I know is I will never be staying at both of these hotels again they are 1 and 2 star hotels maximum!
