we stayed here after a days' racing
we were impressed with all aspects of this hotel
the rooms were large and well equiped plenty of drawer space
which seems to be missing in some hotels
dinner was excellent with plenty of choice and pleasant waiting staff
breakfast was just as good
every member of staff we met was pleasant and friendly
this was an ideal base for racing which on a good day would be a pleasant walk away

This was a stopover on the way to South England from Scotland and for that purpose it was ok. The staff were friendly and the beer good. The rooms were old fashioned and could do with a little TLC.
The food was typical pub and the menu needs updating.
Overall it was ok.
