Address: 219 Watling Street West, Towcester, NN12 6BX
Saracens Head Hotel details:  More than 400 years old, this historic hotel is featured in Charles Dickens' 1st novel, The Pickwick Papers, and offers a unique atmosphere and splendour.

Today, the restored Saracens Head Hotel is the centrepiece of modern life in Towcester, much as it has been for centuries. The same homely comforts which were enjoyed by the visiting Charles Dickens have been restored and blended with today's luxuries.

The continuing story of this hotel proudly offers excellent standards of comfort and service to the discerning guest.

Saracens Head Hotel is one of the closest hotels to the Silverstone motor racing circuit, the home of British motorsport. Milton Keynes and Northampton are approximately 10 miles away.

The Saracens Head Hotel is an old English inn, owned and managed by Greene King Pub Company. Situated in the heart of this market town, the hotel is within walking distance of the famous Towcester horse racing course, and only a 10 minute drive from the Silverstone motor racing circuit.

The friendly bar is popular with locals and visitors alike, and there is always a great selection of draught ales, lagers and soft drinks. The hotel also offers a selection of wines by the glass or bottle.

The Victorian style restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. A range of dishes are available to suit all tastes, from sandwiches and light bites to a more substantial meal. The hotel also serves the full menu at the bar.

There is a range of facilities available for conferences, meetings and seminars. Due to the nature and age of the building, there is not a lift.

This was a stopover on the way to South England from Scotland and for that purpose it was ok. The staff were friendly and the beer good. The rooms were old fashioned and could do with a little TLC. The food was typical pub and the menu needs updating. Overall it was ok.
