Could have been better

Perhaps it depends on which standard you are used to when it comes to hotels but I have to say I was disappointed with the Camden Corner Hotel. On the first day when my husband and I checked in to the hotel we saw that the antenna for the TV was broken which made it difficult to watch any TV at all. We told the staff in the reception that our TV was broken, the man in the reception answered us by saying: Too bad for you. Perhaps I have to add that the TV did not get repaired either, though we stayed for almost a week. Anyway a broken TV is not the end of the world, what really made me/us never want to return to Camden Corner House Hotel again, was what happened the last night we stayed there. I woke up in the middle of the night by a strange noise. I could not figure out what it was until I saw a rat running across the floor. At first I was a bit unsure, I thought my eyes were deceiving me, but when I saw a rat for the third time the same night I felt quite convinced with what I had seen. At first we thought that the hotel was unaware of the rodent problem, since they had not informed us about it, but in the morning we saw that there was rodent bait hidden behind the desk in the room. If a hotel is aware that they have a problem with rats they should at least inform the guests and reduce the price of the room. I can put up with a lousy breakfast, a broken antenna on the TV, staff with a not always so friendly attitude but my line is crossed when rats are running around in the room.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the corner house and it was a truly great experience, first of all it is only one road from camden town except its a really long road, If your quite fit then it wont be a problem. the hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful and pleasant, the lady on reception even gave us a needle and thread when I had to sew a top of mine that had ripped. the only small thing was the tap in the toilet was very poor and only trikled water out but this was not a major problem, would definitely stay here again as it was a very nice clean and friendly hotel.
