The Franklin details:  The Franklin is a member of Design Hotels. Situated on Harrods doorstep in the heart of Knightsbridge on a secluded tree-lined garden square- The Franklin is one of London s best kept secrets. Spanning four Victorian townhouses- this intimate hotel has the ultimate London location and is designed to accentuate its English heritage combined with an eclectic mix of the traditional and contemporary. A feeling of space and tranquility is immediate upon entering the open lobby which has direct access on to the glorious tree-lined garden. The designer J2 Design have focused on retaining the elegance inspired by the existing architecture whilst adding some modish touches and incorporating the floral elements synonymous with the classical English theme. Intricately laid stone and fired oak floors- black onyx surfaces and exquisitely engraved glass screens all serve to compliment the muted palette of natural tones and colors to give an edgy twist. The bathrooms too have engraved back-lit glass panels with many having separate wet areas with rain showers. Every detail has been catered for down to the beautiful Italian Bellora linen. The Franklin is due to open Summer 2007 after an extensive refurbishment program which began in Autumn 2006. Upon reopening- the hotel will have 40 bedrooms including The Garden Suite- five 1-bedroom suites- and eight Junior Suites. Each room will reflect and compliment the style and surrounds of the building and will be equipped with wireless and high speed internet connectivity- flat screen television- surround sound entertainment system incorporating CD- DVD player and IPOD connection. Guests will also have exclusive use of the hotels stylish bar and restaurant The Dining Room- both of which are perfectly located overlooking the stunning gardens. Two meeting rooms and a new gym featuring the latest Techno gym equipment and a spa with treatment rooms have also been added.
