this hotel was very pleasant, the staff friendly and helpful, the room was very clean (something that always worries me). in fact i cannot fault the hotel. the only problem as such was the pub next to the hotel, the food was terrible, i had a chicken fajita, the tortillas rock solid so much so i couldnt unfold them or eat them, the chicken clearly microwaved, the salsa was in fact BBQ sauce, the cheese not grated fresh as it was hard, i wont even go into the toxic guacamole.While i was there i heard numerous complaints about the food from fellow diners The breakfast, again at the pub, was not acceptable for the price charged (?7.50). the sausages cheap, the egg snotty (uncooked white on the top) , the bacon was bland, in fairness it was eat as much as you like the problem being you really dont want to eat much. The staff service at the pub was lovely, the staff friendly, although i was a bit concerned that they took my card away for payment with no explanation (when they have a cordless machine and were able to bring me the machine to type my pin). My reccomendation is stay at the hotel, the room is good and staff friendly, but i would take the short drive into town and find somewhere else to eat.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in September 2007. It is a standard travelinn hotel. Rooms basic as functional as one would expect and also clean (ish). The only issue I had was that our room was located on the ground floor adjacent to a door whose closure mechanism clearly needed some attention and constantly banged, clearly this affected me most late at night and early in the morning. I bought this to the attention of the reception staff but they just said that they would deal with it rather than offering to refund a night of my stay (under their guarantee). I subsequently emailed customer services and was refunded but they didn't have the courtesy to reply to my email. I probably would have given this hotel a 4/5 had it not been for the poor customer service and lack of reply to my email, which I consider rude.
