Well let me begin buy saying we had gone for a (red letter day) wine tasting evening. Our arrival at the hotel we was pleased with the views, the grounds where well kept. Beautiful garden lovely trees, squirrells and rabbits. Nice carpark, well lit. The reception was well kept the staff very friendly, told us where everything was and the leaving time for the morning was 10.30am. The rooms are seperate to the building where the reception, resturant and conference rooms. We went to our room, which i will say was clean and tidy, well lit in the evening, nice towels, shower over bath, glass shower screen instead of the dreaded shower curtain, rubber bath mat, shower gel, hair shampoo, soap, body cream, shoe buff, tissues, a bottle of water, flannels and sewing kit. Telly, large desk, plenty of room in the wardrobe, plenty of draws, phone, hairdyer, trousser press, clock radio that can take your ipod, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, kettle, biscuits. If you run out of anything you could phone reception and they would bring you more bits, also if you require an iron, extra pillows or blankets. The rooms was clean, quite and a bit small, cool not over hot, nice windows and aswell as curtains we had a blind aswell. NOTE, the only thing that was a surprise was the size of the bed, i would not call it a standard sized double bed, it was smaller. The evening, the wine tasting was a very enjoyable evening and i must add not what i imagined it would be like, everyone became relaxed and joined in the evening, we had teams and had a quiz aswell. The meal afterwards was lovely, you had your starter, main, dessert, a huge cheeseboard for all to share and coffee or tea. With your meal you was able to have wine etc, you could also choose wine before your meal (in the wine tasting bit) so it was ready for you when you sat at your table, you could also order glasses of wine of the menu on the table. We sat as groups in the resturant which added to the evening. Next the pool was clean, lovely and hot, nice big towels for you to use. The sauna and gym we did not use run out of time. Breakfast in the morning was just as lovely, there was a choice of fruit, cereral, youghart, juices, toast, jam, crossiants, full fryed breakfast, Vegetarin sausages, a choice of scrambled or fryed eggs, all self service. At your table you could also order fresh tea and coffee, as well as helping yourselve. ALSO in the reception there is compilmentry bottles of water, fruit, mints and biscuits. The bar area was like a living room, cosey. On the bar was compilmentry cream scones which you could help yourselve. Also in the bar you was able to get tea and coffee. We found the staff excellent and was there all the time to make sure all was well. Evan in the restaurant the staff (manager) was always at hand helping and making sure all was well. We would go to this hotel again, though the rooms and bed are small, the amount of good points this hotel has got was a winner for us. I would recommend this hotel for couples wanting a relaxing romantic break, buisness people that also require the use of a conference area, if the hotel was nearer us, hubby would use the hotel for clients, wedding parties. I have a feeling you can also have your wedding reception there. I would not recommended it for familys with children. Again we really enjoyed this wonderful, beautiful hotel..

I have just stayed at Woodside with my 18 year old son and felt that I had to share my experience with people who may be thinking of staying here. First and foremost Woodside is a conference centre and when you pull up you are directed to the "Delegates" parking area. The room was basic but clean and set up for business people to work in with desk and free w-ifi service. everyone else staying had name tags hanging around their necks to show which delegation they were with and this made us feel quite out of place and even uncomfortable. The biggest drawback was that we had to check out by 9am! I had not been advised of this when i booked and only found out when reading the literature in our room.I requested a late check out and they begrudgingly said that we could stay until 10am.However Housekeeping were knocking on our door at 9.10am and told us that they needed to get in to clean. I would say that Woodside is functional but that is about it.
