Comments relate only to our Xmas Day lunch booking - not accommodation. We booked and paid just under £100 for lunch for 2 but my car broke down on the way from London so we couldn't get to Kenilworth from Stratford (as it was Xmas Day). I called the hotel over 24 hours before the booking to explain why we had to cancel. I asked for a partial refund but the staff were unsympathetic and refused to refund anything. I suggested a refund of half would be fair as this would cover food they may have already purchased - but no, zero refund. This was just greedy and unethical in the circumstances.

Stayed here recently with friends, got a room upgrade when we checked in and was pleasantly surprised in view of some of the reviews on here. The rooms were a good size, clean and included hairdrier, trouser press, iron & ironing board. The bathroom was adequate and well stocked with towels and toiletries. Even though the hotel was reasonably busy, the rooms were very quiet. Breakfast was more than adequate, a good choice and well served on a "help yourself" buffet. All staff we met were very pleasant, helpful and courteous. No complaints here after this stay. I understand that Macdonalds have just sold this hotel, and it is now known as the De Montfort Conference Centre.
