We gave a good review on TripAdvisor a couple of years ago. Last week we went back for four days, and were very disappointed. Restaurant is no longer value for money. Big changes for the worst in the last two years. A set meal costing ?27.00 each should be well prepared - even if the main chef Chris has a day off ! Each course had serious failings - Bread baked previous day; Margarine used instead of butter; Whitebait cooked to bullet hardness, small Cromer Crab with no white meat in it ( a quality problem ) and not one dessert made in-house! If you want just Soup, Steak and Strawberries/Ice Cream then OK, but this could be done as well, or better, at a local pub!

This hotel is in an excellent location & is currently being expanded to include a gym & other facilities. Contrary to previous reviews it does have a lift. The staff are friendly & helpful however there is one particular older lady who does come across rather stern & always seems genuinely surprised if you have any normal guest requests! It always seems a bit of an inconvenience! That said, we have been back time & time again - we just try to avoid her!!
