I stayed in the Crooklands Kendal in Aug 07. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was spotless and the power shower better than any I've experienced.
The staff were helpful and friendly.

Charles & June Horrax who are very much 'hands on' owners have put in a great deal of hard work - and expense - to upgrade this property since they purchased it several years ago. By now the majority of rebuilding and refurbishment is just about complete.
My wife and I stay here frequently for a couple of days on our way south from Ayrshire and on our return northwards. The welcome from Charles, June and all the staff is always warm and courteous and the food most appetisiing.
An excellent yardstick for judging the quality of the varied restaurant menu is the large number of locals who eat there.
